The following workplace label templates have been formatted to print on Avery 60506 labels. Download and save the relevant .pdf documents, then open them in Adobe and print. (Do not print from your web browser.) Each template will print 12 identical labels on one sheet.
*Prior to using any of these templates, compare the information on the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for your chemical to the workplace label template to ensure that the information matches.
If a workplace label template for the chemical(s) you are decanting is not listed below, contact the WHMIS Compliance Officer. Alternatively, download the UofT Workplace Label Template, type in the relevant information and print on Avery 60506 labels.

BLEACH
It is not sufficient to label decanted/diluted bleach as “bleach” or “1:10 bleach”. Bleach can be purchased with different concentrations of sodium hypochlorite ranging from 2% to 12%. Instead, label your secondary container with the final concentration of sodium hypochlorite. For example, if the bleach you use in your lab has 3% sodium hypochlorite (check the bottle or the SDS to determine the concentration) and you dilute it 1:10, then your workplace label should indicate “0.3% sodium hypochlorite”. If the bleach you use in your lab has 10% sodium hypochlorite and you dilute it 1:10, then your workplace label should indicate “1% sodium hypochlorite”. Print out the template below and write in the correct concentration of sodium hypochlorite.
